Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has concluded plan to reduce the number of his aides.
A source who preferred anonymity told InsideOyo.com that the move cannot be disconnected from the forthcoming general election.
Though it is unsure whether the governor will return some of his aides who have governorship ambition, it was gathered that ‘real’ party men may be drafted in, as a means of pacifying them.
In the new arrangement, there will be 12 commissioners, while some special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants may not make it back.
Of all the aides of Ajimobi who have governorship ambition, only the health commissioner, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan, is said to be leaving no stone unturned in his bid to get the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The other two- Bimbo Adekanmbi and Ajiboye Omodewu who man the State’s finance and land ministries respectively are said to be in a fix. Inside Oyo revealed that “if they dare resign their appointment, that may be the end of their ambition as they will not get to see the governor as they want. In fact, Omodewu has not been bold enough to tell the governor about his ambition.”
Those Who May Be Reconsidered:
1) Bimbo Adekanmbi: Finance.
2) Bimbo Kolade: Local Government And Chieftaincy Matters.
3 Taibat Adeyemi: Trade And Commerce.
4) Toye Arulogun: Information, Culture And Tourism.
5) Ajiboye Omodewu: Lands And Housing.
6) Adeniyi Olowofela: Education, Science And Technology.
7) Azeez Adeduntan: Health.
