Former Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon. Raphael Afonja, has extended warm congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud.
In a goodwill message on Friday, Afonja noted that the celebration commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, a beacon of mercy, guidance, and light for humanity.
He emphasized that Eid-el-Maulud is an opportunity to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings, which inspire piety, compassion, and unity.
Afonja urged Muslims to honor the Prophet Muhammed’s legacy by embracing peace, righteousness, love, charity, and justice.
He said: “Let us celebrate this day with gratitude and reflection, upholding the values of peace and unity that the Prophet embodied.
“May this celebration strengthen our faith and bring blessings to our families, communities, and the Ummah.”
