The Sports Office and Management of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa welcomed the sport team of the Institution from Oyo State Tertiary Institutions Games (OYSTIGA) 2023 in grand style.
Recall that this year edition of OYSTIGA held at University of Ibadan between 24th and 28th October, 2023 with six recognized tertiary institutions, including University of Ibadan; Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso; The Polytechnic Ibadan; Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa; Federal College of Animal Heath and Production Technology, Ibadan; and Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
The welcome celebration and appreciation program for the AOPE athletes was held at the Assembly Hall of the Institution yesterday.
Speaking on the purpose of the program, the Chairman, Sports Advisory Council, Engr. Wole Ayanrinde, appreciated the Management team of AOPE ably led by Dr. Gbade Akinteye for the maximum support for sport activities in the Institution. He commended the 2023 AOPE contingents for their active participation and guided behavior throughout the competition.

“Our purpose of gathering here today is to welcome our contingents for OYSTIGA 2023. When I look at the AOPE team during the exercise, they were at their best throughout the tournament, and to the glory of God, It’s crystal clear that, our school is no longer young in any competition.”
“On this note, I want to sincerely appreciate the Management team because what we are doing today couldn’t have been possible if not for their maximum support. I want to specifically tell you that, our students behaved maturely and projected the image of our dear institution in good light throughout the competition.”
Dr. Gbade Akinteye, the Acting Rector of the Institution, appreciated AOPE sports team that participated in OYSTIGA 2023 for sending positive signal to general public about the Institution.
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, and Staff of this Institution, I welcome you all to this event where we welcome and celebrate our contingents for OYSTIGA 2023 for their active and meaningful participation. Our joy as Management is that, you didn’t only participate but also showcased good conduct as instilled in you by this great Institution beyond this campus.”
“Your conduct speaks volumes about who we are on this campus. You have made us proud and we appreciate your tenacity. The place of sports cannot be overemphasized in human development.”
“You went, you saw, and you conquered. You deserve appreciation. We are happy because, of all the tertiary Institutions in Oyo State, you are able to feature as we are always featured in the past editions, and we are getting better year in year out, which give us pride to say that even if we are not as big as other tertiary Institutions in Oyo State, when we talk about great men and women in Oyo State sports, we will rather lead while others follow us.”
“On this note, the Management has agreed to present you a certificate of appreciation and participation today, and we will also present a letter of commendation to you which will be duly signed by the Registrar of this Institution.”
The Head coach, Abegunde Elijah, commended the Management team, Staff members, Chairman SAC and members of the committee for thier unflinching support towards the succesful outing for OYSTIGA 2023 Contingents.
The event had in attendance, the management of the Institution ably led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, and Directors, among others.
The Acting Rector led the symbolic presentation of certificates to AOPE athletes.
