Prince Kunle Musediq Adelakun (Eruobodo) has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Jagunmolu Agbekoya of Yorubaland made the announcement on Wednesday during a well-attended event where he unveiled his “Renewed Hope and Vision” agenda for the state.
Addressing supporters, stakeholders, and party faithful, Adelakun said his ambition is driven by a commitment to people-focused development, aiming to improve the living conditions of residents across Oyo State.
He listed education, healthcare, agriculture, security, economic development, and social welfare as key priorities for his administration.

He also promised to create opportunities for youths, women, and the less privileged through skills development, financial support, and boosting agricultural productivity with modern equipment and improved access to resources for farmers.
On infrastructure, Adelakun pledged to improve roads and connectivity across the state, while operating an open and transparent administration anchored on accountability.
Prince Adelakun emphasised collaboration with communities, civil society, and the private sector to build a more prosperous Oyo State.
Taking a swipe at what he described as poor leadership and misuse of public resources, he declared, “It is time for us to stand up and rescue our people from poverty created by a few political opportunists. Enough is enough.”
Eruobodo also stressed the need for democratic values, noting that governance must not be treated as a do-or-die affair.
Highlighting his policy direction, Adelakun said his administration would focus on social welfare, economic growth, agricultural modernisation, security, and strengthening traditional institutions while preserving Yoruba cultural values.
Governorship Aspirant further expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his leadership as a source of inspiration for progressive politics in Nigeria.
