Hon Oke-Are Aina also known as JEGA, the candidate of the Accord Party for Oluyole State Constituency Seat at the Oyo state House of Assembly has offered scholarship to students from Oluyole local government area of the state.
The scholarship program which is for students seeking admission into higher institution of learning is in conjunction with The Polytechnic Iresi, in Osun state.
Oke-Are Aina through her Education Foundation offered seventy percent tuition scholarship for the 8 courses and extra curriculum courses in the institution.
Over 100 students from the nook and crannies of Oluyole Local government took part in the screening exercise which came up on Saturday.
Students who passed the screening exercise will be reached out to on the next line of action towards getting admitted Into the institution.
While speaking shortly after the exercise, Hon Oke-Are Aina said as a lover of education, she is contributing her own quota to the development and advancement of the society with this scholarship program.
She said that if elected as a lawmaker under the platform of the Accord Party, she will do more of this kind of program and many others which will be of benefits for the residents of Oluyole Local government.
She added that her team has packaged many programs for youth, women, girl child, widows, aged and many others which will be implemented if elected.
She concluded that the Accord Party has a better plan for Oyo state adding that the party will restore the state to its pace setter status.
Her words: “This scholarship program is not the only project me and my team have to offer. We have many laudable and good things to offer if elected.
“But I believe education is the foundation and background of development. So, we need to start from here. I’m doing this to contribute my own quota to the development and advancement of our state and society in general.”
Also speaking, one of the parents of the students, Mrs Folasade Olanrewaju, thanked Hon Oke-Are Aina for putting up the scholarship program.
She said brilliant students who can’t afford to go to higher institution due to financial issue will benefit greatly from the scholarship.
She expressed optimism that if she’s elected, she will do more than this.
Another parent, Mrs Olubamiwo Adekile, hailed the Accord Party and its candidate across the state.
Adekile added that with the crop of candidates the party is parading, Oyo state will be in safe hands after the 2023 general elections.
Meanwhile, students who took part in the exercise commended Hon Oke-Are Aina for the initiative.
The students who were joyous chorused her name to thank her.
