A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin has described Late Dr Fatai Aborode as a friend, ally and forthright personality who would be sorely missed.
Lanlehin, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the 2019 general election made this known in a statement made available to www.insideoyo.com on Sunday.
While calling on the Nigerian Police to bring to book the perpetrators, he called for the overhauling of Nigerian security infrastructure.
He said: “I received with the deepest sense of shock and heartfelt loss, the tragic and unfortunate demise of Dr. Abdulfatai Aborode, on Friday, 11 December, 2020.
“As if the news of his death wasn’t sad enough, the circumstance which birthed it, was even sadder, heart-rending and extremely disappointing. That the amiable doctor could be exterminated in his hometown, by criminal elements, is a tale too sour to swallow. It is just so unfortunate.
“Now, more than ever, is the time to overhaul the Nigerian security infrastructure to ensure lives, limbs and properties, cease to be lost to avoidable circumstances.
“The late Dr. Aborode was a friend, ally and forthright personality, who would be sorely missed by all.
“I, commiserate wholeheartedly with his family, praying Almighty Allah to grant the dear departed Al-jannah Firdous, while giving the family the fortitude to bear this very irreparable loss.
“Likewise, I call on the Nigerian Police to speedily bring to book the perpetrators of this heinous and condemnable crime, so that this loss is at least, somewhat mitigated, and that the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.”
