The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the release of a provisions store owner identified as Mrs. Foluke Akinrinade, who was kidnapped in Eruwa town.
The Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, on Wednesday disclosed that the victim has been released after twenty-four hours in captivity.
He said the victim was released Tuesday evening.
He also disclosed that no ransom was paid to secure her release.
Fadeyi said, “Yes, she has been released at about 7.00 pm 2/719 after concerted efforts by Police teams deployed to launch a manhunt for her perpetrators. Her name is Foluke Akinrinade and no information as to if any ransom is paid.
“Police is still on the trial of hoodlums. They shall soon be arrested and brought to book.”
Insideoyo.com reports that Mrs Akinrinde was the second victims of abduction in the state after another woman was abducted at Igboora.
Some unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers had on Monday abducted Akinrinade in Eruwa town in Ibarapa geo-political zone of the state.
