The Aare of Ofiki Land, Alayeluwa, Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye Oyetunji Oyinlola II has commended the Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde for transmitting power to his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
The traditional ruler said the people of Oke Ogun in general will be grateful to the Governor for entrusting their son with such power in the history of the state.
He made the commendations in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ofiki, Atisbo local government area of the state.
The monarch said he is confidently sure that Barrister Bayo Lawal will make judicious use of the opportunity as entrusted in him by his boss.
He added that Bayo Lawal is a true son of Oke Ogun who will not betray his boss for the opportunity and kind gesture given to him.
He wished the Governor journey mercy back home and prayed Oyo state will continue to be the pace setter state.
He said: “I woke up hearing the news that His excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has handed over power to our son, the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Bayo Lawal. I must commend the Governor for this. History will never forget him for this kind gesture, trust and opportunity.
“I’m confidently sure, our son, the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Bayo Lawal will not misuse the opportunity and make judicious use of the trust His excellency has in him.
“Sons and daughters of Oke Ogun will be grateful for this historical events in the history of our dear state. I wish the Governor journey mercy back home.”
