With the legacy report of the Committee on Special Duties of the 9th Oyo state House of Assembly, the lawmaker who represented Kajola State constituency, Hon Akeem Mustapha is among the top 5 parliamentarians who performed excellently well in their legislative duties.
The 9th Assembly held sittings for 182 days. The Speaker, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin and the Leader, Hon Sanjo Adedoyin have the highest number of attendance, followed by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Muhammed Fadeyi.
Mustapha and two other lawmakers are the next with the highest number of attendance, according to the report.
Mustapha served as Chairman, House Committee on Public Petitions and Judiciary. He was also Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Finance and Appropriation.
He served as Vice Chairman, House Committee on Education and Vice Chairman, House Committee on Employment, Labour, Productivity and Pensions. He also served as Member, Committee on Energy.
His committees made sure three bills assigned to them were passed into law before the dissolution of the house.
With 10 motions moved by Hon Mustapha, he was the 4th lawmaker with the highest number of motions while Hon Wunmi Oladeji had the highest number of motions with 15 motions.
One of his motions caught the attention of Governor Seyi Makinde which led to the completion of Moniya-Iseyin-Ojutaye road. A road which is directly impacting the lives of people of Oke Ogun and Oyo state in general.
The motion was titled “A passionate appeal to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to put necessary measures in place to mobilize the contractor handling the rehabilitation of Moniya-Iseyin-Ojutaye road so as to fast track its completion”
Mustapha raised 4 Matter of Urgent Public Importance while the highest number of Matter of Urgent Public Importance is 9 by Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, the Leader of the house.
On the floor of the House, he presented 8 oversight reports on issues that are very germane and critical to the state.
While giving his valedictory speech. Hon Mustapha thanked his constituents electing him to represent them at the 9th assembly.
He urged members of the 10th Assembly to do more than the 9th Assembly.
