It became obvious yesterday that former Senate leader, Oloye Teslim Folarin, is no longer relevant in the Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The party had yesterday named Col. Tunde Akogun and Kola Ademujimi as its caretaker chairman and secretary respectively for Oyo State. It has named 33 people to work with them.
None of Folarin’s men made the list of caretaker committee members ratified and released by the national headquarters of the party.
Folarin, who was the party’s governorship candidate in the 2015 election, had recently met Governor Abiola Ajimobi in a meeting believed to have been facilitated by former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
With the meeting, many keen watchers of politics had concluded that Folarin had ‘signed’ a deal APC. On his return to the country, Folarin was said to have visited the Bodija residence of former governor Rashidi Ladoja. Though details of the meeting is still sketchy days after.
Many were, however, surprised when known supporters of the Ibadan chief were omitted from the list.
Though Folarin has not officially declared his exit from the PDP, Insideoyo.com gathered that his exclusion cannot be disconnected with his support for ex-factional national chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sherrif.
In his local government of Ona-Ara, ex-FCT minister, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, is on the list as member representing the council in the caretaker committee.
