In solidarity with the struggles of the students their alma mater- Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, some alumni of the institution initiated the #fundLAUTECH, aimed at self-financing the intititution which has suffered setback as a result of the owner-states’ (Oyo and Osun) inability to pay salaries as and when due.
In just two weeks, the initiative headed by Mr. Bayo Adeyinka, has been able to raise a whooping amount of N4 million (N4,091,089.15) as published on its website www.fundlautech.com, out of the targeted N1b billion in 90 days.
In awe are the details of the individuals who have expressed their kind gesture in cash to this fundraising project and their donations.

1) Senator Rashidi Ladoja
The former governor, under whose tenure the institution was ranked 4th in Nigeria, is the biggest donor so far. He gave a cheque of N2 million and also pledged his pension for six months totalling N3,864,000. In all, Ladoja will be dashing out over N5 million naira.
2) The initiators of the #fundLAUTECH
The chief initiator, Mr. Adebayo Adeyinka, being supported by co-initiators; Tunde Ajayi-Ope, Dr Saheed Adetunbi, Ropo Egbeleke and Sola Kolawole, donated N1million to kick start the donation.
3) The 8 Accord Lawmakers in OYHA
The 8 Accord lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly -Oyebamiji Joshua (Akinyele 1), Oguntade Olasunkanmi (Egbeda), Oloya Ayinla (IbNE 1) Adeoye Adeniyi (IBNE 2), Adesina Fatai (IBSE 1), Akeem ige (IBSE 2), Olaunju Muideen (Oyo East/West) and Bunyamin Azeez Adesina (Ona-Ara), pledged the sum of the N1 million to the initiative.
4) Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who was impressed by the initiative, pledged a donation of N500,000 and issued a cheque of N250,000 to the team instantly. He accepted offer to chair the BoT of the initiative.
5) CEO of ACE Supermarket
The CEO of ACE Supermarket, Mr. Yinka Afonja donated a sum of N500,000 to support the project. Afonja was said to have always been a good friend of LAUTECH with his thriving business in Ogbomosho.
