The General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan Rasheed Balogun, has dedicated the team’s impressive run of late to the Executive governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde.
Speaking in a post match interview, after the Oluyole Warriors eliminated NPFL side Katsina United from this year’s Aiteo Cup, Balogun said the victory and previous good outings are for the governor.
“We have played about twelve matches now without a defeat and that is to tell you that we have a good team.
” We want to dedicate all these, particularly this afternoon’s win over Katsina United to the government of Oyo State, led by Engineer Seyi Makinde, His Excellency, the governor of the pace setter state.
” He promised to give the club a facelift and that he has started doing, so we owe him much for this victory”, said the 3SC boss.
On the team’s quest for promotion, Balogun said the battle was not over yet, stressing that the team will not rest on its oars until the job is done.
“We are not relenting, inspite of our present position. We will continue to fight till we get to where we are going, which is the NPFL”.
He added that the team hopes to book a ticket to the play off, where the promotion battle would eventually be settled, praying for a level praying ground, unlike what happened during the last Super 8 held in Aba.
