A youth group under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Youth Movement has congratulated the senator-elect for Osun West Senatorial District, Ademola Adeleke over his victory in last Saturday’s bye-election.
In a statement by its Oyo-born president, Com Sina Afolabi, the group said “the success recorded in the election by our great party, PDP, in the state is a proof that the people of Osun State had rejected All Progessives Congress as ruling party in the state. In the same spirit, we affirm that the victory is not only for the Adeleke’s but for the entire members of Peoples’ Democratic Party(PDP) in Nigeria.”
The group congratulated PDP members in Osun, wishing the senator elect a successful tenure. “We wish to declare without equivocation that this is the defining moment in the annals of our great party with the love expressed by the electorate for the PDP. As a group, we shall not relent in efforts to ensure that PDP bounces back and regains the control of the nation’s political leadership.
“Similarly, our group will continue to support and share the vision of Senator Alli Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of PDP. By extension, we congratulate the board of trustees chairman of PDP National Youth Movement, Barrister Kayode Oduoye and the Osun State party Chairman, Hon Olasoji Adagunodo for the landmark achievement and unprecedented victory at Osun West Senatorial district bye election. In telling our success story, we acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our group’s strategy committee and the crack team that were deployed to various local governments within Osun West Senatorial District for the purpose of handling media and intelligent gathering under the headship of Mr Maruf Adebisi.”
