Dr. Usman Ololade Bakare, a cyber-security expert and IT specialist has expressed confident about getting Oyo All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
On Monday, January 12, Dr Bakare expressed this while speaking on Splash FM, Ibadan on ”Spot Light” programme anchored by Mr. Tunde Olawuwo.
Dr Bakare while speaking about his chances of clinching Oyo APC gubernatorial ticket said he is a loyal party member of the All Progressives Congress, APC and he will continue to be.
Dr Bakare born in Isale Bode area of Ibadan. He attended Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
Dr Bakare said Oyo APC remains united, focused under The Renewed Hope Ambassador for Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin.
He said be believed firmly that he will emerge party’s gubernatorial candidate stressing that he is the most experienced aspirant in public service. He urged the APC to allow open contest for all aspirants.
Dr Bakare who works with the defunct FIRS said he has led projects to deliver exceptional public service to the good people of Nigeria and securing the tax infrastructure of revenue generating agency as cyber security expert.
While commenting on the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, he said the present governor is not popular. He urged Governor Makinde to start preparing his handing over note, saying All Progressives Congress, APC will win 2027 governorship election. He remarked that governance goes beyond payment of salaries, he queried Gov Makinde’s inability to be transparent and accountable on N30billion received from FG over Bodija explosion.
Dr Bakare said IGBEGA OYO INITIATIVE, the NGO he founded has empowered countless individuals, from far and near of Oyo State.
While reacting whether he will decamp or remain in the party if a consensus candidate emerged, Dr Bakare said he will remain in the party to ensure that APC return to the power in Oyo State come 2027.
Dr Bakare hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu economic reforms. The Chartered Tax Professional described President Tinubu as uncommon leader. He pledged his support for his second term bid in office.
