No fewer than Two Hundred and Twenty-One (221) certified artisans and technician groups across Oyo State under the platform of Itesiwaju Oyo Empowerment Vision Initiative on Wednesday endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin as the best choice to take over from the misruling Governor Seyi Makinde-led government in 2023.
The declaration was made during an interface between the three-term senator and the artisan groups on issues bordering on Oyo State’s development and what they felt could be done to move the State forward.
Speaking on behalf of the groups, Comrade (Chief) Samson Odewale said they were throwing their weights behind 2023 governorship ambition of Oloye Folarin due to his leadership qualities and quality representation he had been giving to Oyo Central senatorial district and Oyo State at the national level.
In his words: “For and on behalf of members of 221 groups that constitute Itesiwaju Oyo Empowerment Vision Initiative, I am officially announcing that we have resolved to massively support Oloye Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress as our governorship candidate in 2023 elections”
“We are endorsing and rating Senator Folarin above other 2023 governorship candidates including Governor Seyi Makinde because the Oyo Central senator is the only one that recognises the pains and agonies of Oyo artisans and have solutions to our problems. We believe his genuine love for artisans and good plans to soften our pains can only materialise if we support him to become next governor in Oyo State in 2023 elections”
Former Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government Area, Alhaji Omilabu Ghandi who spoke in support of Folarin’s 2023 governorship project urged the artisan groups go out en-mass to mobilise friends, families and neighbours to vote for the Oyo APC governorship candidate in 2023 elections.
Senator Folarin while thanking the artisan groups for endorsing his candidature, urged the party chieftains to galvanise support for the party presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Sentimentally speaking, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Yoruba Nation’s project. Therefore, all Yorubas must give him 100% votes in 2023. Holistically speaking, he is a good leader and tested public administrator. He is a ready-made president and has answers to the country’s challenges”.
Folarin promised masses-oriented government if given the mandate in 2023 elections.
The interactive session, which was held at NANTA State Secretariat, Academy in Ibadan had in attendance Prince Niran Adeyoju, Alhaji Omilabu Ghandi and other notable stakeholders.
