The Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, on Wednesday, promised that the year 2023 budget will allow for even distribution of resources across all in the State.
He made the promise at the stakeholders meeting on year 2023 budget preparation for Oyo state, which held at Ogbomoso South Local Government Secretariat, Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State.
Ogunwuyi maintained that Governor Seyi Makinde is a man of his word that always fulfils all his promises, saying this has helped his administration in achieving a lot in all sectors of the State, particularly in Ogbomoso zone.
According to him, on Education, Governor Seyi Makinde promised that his administration will take the sole ownership of LAUTECH, and, today, it is a reality.
The zone has also witnessed renovation and completion of Model schools with the state-of- the-art facilities in them and also the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staffs.
He further explained that the RAAMP project, which will commence in earnest, will capture Oriire, Ogooluwa and Surulere Local Governments.
He promised that the talk and do Governor will see to all their requests for the 2023 budget and will be adequately represented.
In his opening remarks, the Honorable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Musibau Babatunde, charged the people of Ogbomoso zone to have trust and believe in the government of Governor Seyi Makinde and also continue to pray for the success of his administration.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Tpl Ajibola Ademola, who tagged the year 2023 budget ‘a budget of even distribution of resources’ noted that resources of the State will be evenly distributed among everyone.
He further said strict discipline will be ensured to allow what the people want be put in the budget.
While giving his goodwill message, the Olugbon of Orilegbon, Oba Francis Alao admonished the government to ensure that all the promises made in the current budget are fulfilled before the year runs out.
He pledged his support for the second term bid of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that he has done his best to a certain level in all sectors, particularly with the payment of salaries compared to what was obtained in other states in Nigeria.
The meeting was attended by relevant stakeholders from the 5 local government areas of the Ogbomoso zone and other stakeholders including artisans, farmers, Civil Society Organizations, representatives of market men and women and religious leaders.
