The Most Beautiful Girl in Oyo state 2020 registration which commenced in April has seen over 512 applicants from different local government areas, has ended.
Earlier, for this year’s edition, Hon Fola Oyekunle, member representing Ibadan North State Constituency I, in the Oyo 9th Assembly agitated for the abolishment of the N5,000 entry to give room for prospective contestants who are much more confident, to participate in the beauty competition or be crowned the next Most Beautiful girl in Oyo State.
Speaking to newsmen in the city of ibadan, Mr Adesina Oyelami, the creative director of the beauty pageant, said this year’s event will be more challenging for the ladies, because they will be engaged in more community development services to support the Oyo state government in sensitizing the good people of the State on the importance of the preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, and also continue the mental awareness campaign to help people maintain mental strength and stability in these trying times.
The last edition of the event, which was held at the prestigious Kakanfo Inn & Conference Centre with the record of 2,128 people in attendance, saw a 400 level LAUTECH student, ADEDOYIN ADEYEMO ANDREAS, crowned the Queen, with the sum of N500,000 from MOBitooT and other endorsement deals as reward. The occasion was graced with special appearances from the Oyo Sate speaker, Rt.Hon Debo Ogundoyin, Other members of the Oyo State 9th Assembly, wife of the Alaafin and other dignitaries in the state.
He also said more information about the mode of engagement for the coming edition of the event will be revealed in due time.
The pageant which is known for its transparency and genuinty has been regarded as the biggest beauty pageant in Oyo state.
