The chairman of Ibarapa North local government, Honourable Lateef Akorede on Tuesday assumed office as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government after being sworn in by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Akorede received the Paramount Seven Kings of Ibarapa towns on the first day in office.
The kings held a brief meeting with the Chairman which focused on insecurity and other issues.
They discussed on how the Chairman and the local government can tackle insecurity at the local level.
The Obas also prayed for him and pledged their support towards the development of Ibarapa zone, Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
While reacting, Akorede thanked them for the visit and their pledge.
He also promised to see to the security challenge, education, agricultural development among other developmental projects.
Earlier, he was led on tour round the secretariat by the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr B. I. Amoo (JP).
