About 10 million disabled persons with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will vote for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari for another four years term in Saturday’s presidential election.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Mr Paul Adelabu, stated this on Monday at a meeting held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
According to a report by Nigerian Tribune, Adelabu premised the support on the recent decision of Buhari to sign the disability bill into law, which he said had given persons living with disabilities the right to demand for the best opportunities in all spheres of life.
Noting the failure of past Presidents to assent to the disability bill, he said the disabled persons henceforth planned to celebrate Buhari every January 23rd, in commemoration of January 23, 2018, that Buhari signed the disability bill into law.
The event which featured a loud endorsement of Buhari/Osinbajo for a second term in office by over 50 support groups, had in attendance, Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole; South West Director of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, Mr Olusola Oke; Executive Assistant to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Political Matters, Dr Morounkola Thomas among others.
