A former member of the House of Representatives, Barr. Muraina Ajibola Saubana has been recommended by the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as its coordinator for Oyo State.
Saubana, who represented Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency between 2003 and 2011, would replace a former speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, who was the administrative secretary of the party.
This is coming few weeks after a Supreme court judgement sacked the faction of Sen. Ali Modu-Sherrif, earlier recognised as the authentic leadership.
In a letter dated 27/07/17 and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, signed by its national chairman caretaker committee, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi and the national
Secretary, Sen. Ben Obi, it asked for the replacement of Alarape who was earlier appointed by the ousted Sen Ali Modu-Sheriff led NEC.
The letter stated that the appointment takes effect from 17th July, 2017.
